the occult club was created as a way for the club president (me,duh lmao) to recover from sevre ptsd. this goal with creating a virtual clubroom was to surround myself with things that i love so i can remind myself who i am. so the clubroom is really a room just for me and things i love related to the occult.
the occult club is made to be both a place to relax and have fun, but also study occult sciences and connect with other occult scholars. true occultism isnt just creepy stuff and witchcraft, it is so much more than that.

occultism and the occult to me are complex ideas. but to summarize them as best i can, i think they are studies of human nature, and nature itself. occultism isn't just dark, its how we deal with the darker aspects of our reality. occultism related to religion and human supersticions.
when you think of occult, as in withces and monsters, these are all ways that us as humans have comforted our fear of the unknown throughout time. magic for example, and other spiritual rituals should be appriciated through a lense of anthropology! when you look at all these spells and things weve called magic they tend to be self care practicies, community building events, and so on in a way to explain the world around us and help us cope with the parts we don't understand.
when you think of myths and legends and horror stories of evil monsters that kill they are all to teach a fear of mortality and persee the community's life by teaching each other things to avoid and watch out for(ie, la llorona teaching children not to wander outside at night)
to summarize, we studying human psychology and beliefs and how we cope with the dark reality of the nature we are born into, death.

anything related to horror and the occult was something i was really curious of, so i would always read myths and legends from all over the world and was obsessed with learning of different cultures.
one thing I seek with my occult studies is to defocus them from the western occultism. IOn my own research I became quickly frustrated looking for sources and only being able to find thigns revolving wicca,pageanism, and european countries. That drove me nuts as the entire world is occult! If there are humans, there is occult!
some more about me, besides occult because that is my hyperfixation, i like to crochet, make video games, write stories, and draw and stuff. I also love cosplay, im a femboy. And I'm engaged, weve been together for 6 years now?
